The Arabic cities of Beirut and Amman form two of the three pillars of the Masahat (Landscapes) network for contemporary dance. The network has been established to improve intercultural exchange and communication in the Arabic world. This spring in Lebanon the Beirut International Platform of Dance takes place. An excellent opportunity for Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel to combine the festival invitation with a visit to Amman in Jordan, where cultural organisation Dozan Wa Awtar organizes a performance.
The Middle East tour starts in Lebanon where the company will perform on 26 April in the Al Madina Theatre in Beirut. As a prelude Massimo Molinari will give a workshop for dancers in the MT Dance Space on 24 and 25 April. Next the performance in Amman will be held on 28 April in the Al Hussein Cultural Center.
The double programme of De Châtel in the Middle East will present two successfull choreographies of 2007. Pulse by Krisztina de Châtel and Massimo Molinari was premiered in January 2007 and reaped great success in the Dutch theatres. Beige by Giulia Mureddu premiered last fall in 4 GO - the latest guest choreographers production. Press and public were touched by her choreography.
