Last season, Krisztina de Châtel developed a special programme in cooperation with the Academy of Architecture around the theme of choreography and architecture. The trainee architects learnt to perceive spaces in a new, physical way.
This autumn, the choreographer is back at the Academy for a form study. Under guidance of de Châtel and her assistant choreographer Massimo Molinari, second-year students will examine the role of the human body as a building block in a spatial composition.
How do humans relate to each other and to their surroundings – objects, walls, staircases and pillars? The students will physically experience what it is like to use your body as part of a composition, not as a dancer, but as a person. A person who walks, sits, stands – in short, moves – every day in relation to his surroundings.
After an introduction at the Academy, the practical part of the form study will take place in a bare space and on location. |
