According to philosopher Jan Flameling, the choreographer can serve as a model for managers. In the Dutch broadsheet Het Financieel Dagblad he explains: “A choreographer directs a process that results in a performance in which the dancers themselves come together to be creative and move. The “choreographical” approach gives all involved the opportunity to be creative, both as individuals and as a group, and to feel responsible and act responsibly.” It is a perfect work situation for managers and their staff, which makes way for creativity.
Together with the International School for Philosophy, Jan Flameling has developed an interactive workshop for managers. He has invited Krisztina de Châtel to teach participants about her style of directing within the artistic process of a dance company. As part of the workshop, participants will also personally experience the choreographical approach.
The course will take place in the middle of December in the woods near Leusden. More information is available on the site of the International School for Philosophy.
The managers at Yacht are also interested in the choreographical approach. Mid-November, Jan Flameling will give a presentation for this company. Cecilia Moisio and Massimo Molinari will illustrate the presentation with dance.
