Trailer Giubileo

De Châtel travelling to Brasil
The Plataforma Brasil Holanda has invited several Dutch dance companies to São Paulo for the Conexão Internacional de Dança. After the première of Giubileo Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel flies to Brasil for a 10 day trip including performances in the theater and on outdoor locations.

Internationale Tanzmesse nrw 2008
Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel will visit the International Tanzmesse in Düsseldorf to perform on the opening night and to present the future plans for Dansgroep Amsterdam (to be established).

Krisztina de Châtel visiting lecturer at the Rietveld Academie
Visual Arts students from the Rietveld Academie are taking part in a workshop run by Krisztina de Châtel and Massimo Molinari in the large de Châtel studio in Amsterdam, focusing on the human body in combination with space and time.

Krisztina de Châtel pursues visiting lectureship Academy of Architecture
Choreography and architecture have many common features. This became clear when Krisztina de Châtel took up the position of Artist in Residence at the Academy of Architecture last season. This term she is back at the Academy as a visiting lecturer to supervise a form study for second-year students.

Not unknown in the world of Dutch modern dance: Sophie Lambo. Currently working as general manager of Conny Janssen Danst this summer she will make the changeover to Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel.

Soon at Reuring Summer Festival: Pulse+

Music and dance merge on György Ligeti's music. Mechanical and organic dance movements are accompanied by virtuoso sound pulses. Ligeti's compositions form an invitation for dancers and musicians to explore their physical boundaries.

Three generations of choreographers join forces in DANScombinatie: Krisztina de Châtel (1943), Conny Jansen (1958) and Ann Van den Broek (1970). Three women full of spirit, passion, charm and talent, but also with an unmistakable own signature.

Föld in London
Föld will be shown in London during the festival Dance Umbrella at October 24, 25 and 26. Föld, or 'Earth' in Hungarian, was produced in 1985 for the Holland Festival in Amsterdam. Considered by many as a highlight of the festival at the time, the choreography has over the years grown to be a a popular and timeless classic of Dutch modern dance.

Now on tour: Concave
Being trapped – in one’s own body or in surroundings that restrict one’s freedom – is a recurring theme in Krisztina de Châtel’s work. In Concave three men are trapped behind the bars of two large metal balls. The music is by Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares and Kodõ, Blessing of Earth (Japanese percussion).

The 2005/2006 Season
During the 2005/2006 season Dansgroep Krisztina de Châtel will present a combination of classic and new works. The dance company attaches great value to its rich repertoire, which is why some timeless pieces have been selected for repeat performances: Föld and Concave, both choreographies that previously enjoyed great success. Krisztina de Châtel has also invited four young dance makers to create guest choreographies. In addition, the dance group is working on a co-production with the Salia nï Seydou company from Burkina Faso.

Schiele selected for Dance Days
The performance Gradual and Persistent Loss of Control has been selected for the Dutch Dance Days which are to be held on 7, 8 and 9 October in Maastricht. Gradual and Persistent Loss of Control was performed twice a week as part of the Egon Schiele exhibition (25 March – 19 June 2005) in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

Zooi during Over het IJ Festival

When a dancer lifts a ballerina into the air and lets her glide through space, we can just call it art. But when a garbage man throws a bag through the air, we say they chuck them. Choreographer Krisztina de Châtel explores the beauty of garbage collection in her latest choreography, Zooi ("Mess").

On request of the Van Gogh Museum, Krisztina de Châtel and performance artist Marina Abramović create this spring an unusual project with performances and choreographies around the work of Egon Schiele. The expressiveness of the human body connects Schiele’s work with that of de Châtel and Abramović.
